What is the difference between marble and granite?
Although both stones are quarried from the earth, granite and marble (and marble's relatives- limestone and travertine) are very different from each other. Granite is formed deep in the earth's mantle, creating a very hard, resistant stone made of crystallized minerals. The marble families of stones are formed from sediment from ancient sea beds which solidified into

calcium based stone. This makes them softer that granite and susceptible to reactions with acids such as lemon juice and vinegar.

Granite is one of the hardest stones on Earth and has a rating of 7 on the Moh's Measurement and Hardness Scale, which is just below diamonds.

It is formed in the high heat associated with volcanic action (over 1400 degrees Fahrenheit)

Granite is an igneous rock made up of several minerals such as quartz (light grey/clear), mica (black), and feldspar (white) which give each stone a unique look.

Granite has a depth and reflectivity that gives a three-dimensional appearance.

No two pieces of granite are exactly the same and for this reason each is considered an original work of art.

The company uses a sophisticated method of measuring and mapping out how a countertop will be fabricated and subsequently installed. This method ensures the most efficient usage of stone slabs and leads to having the least amount of seams in your countertops as possible. We then give our clients the option of protecting their investment with a revolutionary sealer that permanently seals natural stone from oil and water based stains and comes with a fifteen-year warranty. This sealer eliminates the need to periodically re-seal countertops and does not limit you on what you can use to clean with. We offer this product for sale direct to the consumer as well as a professional application service, which comes with a written fifteen-year warranty.
